We had lived in our home for 10 years and during that time we had done nothing to the landscaping. It was not to our taste, stylistically, and was mostly overgrown and neglected.
We were prepared to spend only a certain amount of money to improve it and we needed someone to maximize what we could do to overhaul our yard within that budget.
Sam Tarverdi worked with an architect to come up with some ideas for us. We had a clear idea about what we didn’t like, but needed help articulating exactly what we did like. Sam was patient and helpful, pushing back when we were off track and providing lots of ideas. We went through a few rounds of design and plant selection but zeroed in pretty quickly on a winning strategy.
In the end we came up with a simple, elegant plan with several different zones of color and a variety of design elements which worked well with the existing site structures, trees, walks, etc.
Sam brought in his foreman, Lalo, and his crew to do the labor and these guys were super. The demolition alone was herculean, pretty much every old plant and bush were removed in addition to a large concrete and stone waterfall structure that we hated.
The irrigation system, bed preparation and planting were professionally executed and all the plants are still alive 6 months later! As the new planting grows and blooms we have many delightful reminders of the skill and effort of Sam, Lalo and their crew.
Best of all, we stayed within our budget and we feel confident we got the maximum bang for our landscaping buck. I’m sure this was not one of Sam’s larger projects, but he was responsive and attentive to detail to an extent that made it clear that our happiness was important to him.
I believe Campbell Landscape is a costeffective, professional organization which most people would be very pleased to partner with for substantial landscaping projects. I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Sam Tarverdi and the Campbell Landscaping group has performed many large and small scale projects for us over the past 10 years in Saratoga and Los Gatos. Projects have included pools & fountains, large all stone cabana, huge fireplaces, many stone retaining walls, outdoor cooking areas, and lots of tree, shrub, and flower landscaping. All work was done to agree upon price, quality, and timing, some under very strict deadlines for very personal family events.

I hired Sam and his team after interviewing two other contractors. Sam was on time, very knowledgeable, and extremely trustworthy. He took a very personal interest in my job and helped educate me along the way, as it was my first landscape/hardscape project. He took the time to explain options, costs, and benefits and took a very person interest in making my yard exactly what I wanted it to be.
Sam was very handson throughout the project and didn’t just offload the work to some subs and walk away. The guys on his team were all timely, credible, and did great work. Considering the scale and complexity of our hardscaping needs which included many difficult hill side retaining walls with thousands of feet of custom made travertine coping, steps, columns and Gazebos, Sam not only met but far exceeded our expectations. In addition, his knowledge of horticulture and proper application was impressive and his suggestions were always welcomed. Sam’s attention to detail,
prompt response time, and keen building and landscape knowledge combined, proved to me beyond

Recently Sam and his crew completed a project for us. They were great. It was completed on time and exactly on budget. The project stretched over a few days, and at the end of every day the yard was left in a very neat and tidy condition. Sam was very accommodating with change orders. He would do whatever was necessary to please his customer. The quality of workmanship was very high and we are very pleased with the result. Highly recommended.
